It had to be predictable (although it was'nt mentioned during the time) but following the mayhem of New years eve a calm decended over the town during the following 4 nightshifts which i believe was due to:
1. Everyone was spent out after Xmas and new year after draining their bank accounts and Maxing their credit cards.
2. It was work the next day (no more hungover lie ins)
3. Everyone was exhausted after New years eve (The once a year drinkers could'nt handle the pace)
4.The pubs had all ran out of booze!
It was quite calming just to have a few hours peace and actually drive around and do some pro-active policing. I like policing the town/city at night, not being bogged down with your own enquiries on Niche and just reacting to jobs. Also, the city has a calming effect on me when it's lit up with the dull yellow hue of the millions of street lights everywhere and most law abiding people are tucked up sleeping and there is no noise of traffic etc. Also, i like it when the morning comes,especially in winter, when you finish on time and it's still dark and when i drive home to my warm bed i see all the other suckers driving to work. Lovely....
